As a tenant, you should make sure to sign up for a home insurance registered at your new address regardless of whether the landlord has one or not. If the apartment is furnished you should also have the supplementary insurance cover. If you don't have an insurance you take the risk that the landlord's home insurance doesn’t cover you, your possessions or damages for which you are considered responsible. Therefore, be sure to have a valid home insurance.
