When the rental period is over the landlord will have to approve the refunding of the deposit (i.e. nothing is broken). The landlord has 10 days to do so. If the return is approved on day 3, We transfer the money on day 4, etc. If your landlord doesn't do anything, we will initiate the transfer automatically after the 11th day. So make sure you’ve provided us with your bank details. Note that if you provide international bank details it can take longer for your transfer to be initiated.
The deposit is handled by us throughout the entire rental and is kept on a separate bank account (client funds account). Thus, the landlord never has access to your deposit.
If your landlord would deny the deposit refund, we’ll contact you and initiate a case for the process of the claim.
If you rent deposit-free you're still liable to compensate the landlord if you are found to be responsible for damages that occur during the rental period. If the landlord has the right to get compensated, we will only invoice you for the actual cost of the damage.
If you rent your vacation home through us, no deposit is needed.
