Some homes at Qasa are insured. You can see if the home in question is insured in the ad. The insurance only applies if you sign the lease and rent via Qasa. If you rent outside the Qasa platform, the home is not insured and the information below does not apply. Then you will be liable for all damages that occur to the home during the rental period.

Can I ignore signing up for a home insurance if a rent an insured home?
No, this insurance is a supplement to a regular home insurance. Both you and the landlord must have home insurance to be protected. Your own home insurance, for example, covers damage to your own belongings, and the landlord's home insurance covers, for example, fire and water damage in the home. What is included in the insurance?
The insurance applies to the landlord (both private individuals and legal entities are covered). The insurance applies to abnormal wear, damage or loss of property where the value of the property is reduced or has been lost - examples of what can be compensated are damage to, for example, furniture, furnishings, floors and walls.
What is not included in the insurance?
Damages that occur as a result of normal wear and tear and that not affect the property's function are not compensated. Nor damage that is not related to the specific rental, or damage that has arisen through long-term exposure such as moisture or rot.

A damage is first reported to the landlord and then via Omocom's damage report form as soon as possible after the damage is discovered.
What can the insurance provide compensation for?
Examples: Damage to the kitchen counter after an accident or red wine stains on the sofa. Movable property are covered, e.g. things that can be found in the home that are not fixed furnishings, such as furniture, household utensils and electronics.
The insurance has a deductible of SEK 1,000 which is paid by you as a tenant.
