In order to focus fully on our service for long term rentals, Qasa has taken the decision to close down the service for vacation rentals. Our goal is to make this process as simple and transparent as possible for everyone affected by this change. Here you will find an overview of how this process will look, and how it might affect your bookings and/or listings.
Important dates
We will gradually close down the vacation rental service in two steps:
Vacation listings will no longer be bookable on Qasa after April 17th.
- Bookings will have to be confirmed and paid before this date to not be automatically cancelled, and the check-out has to be before or on the final closure date on August 31st.
- You will not be able to edit the dates of a confirmed booking after April 17th.
- If you wish to cancel a booking, you may do so as normal and according to the cancellation policy.
The date for the final closure of vacation rentals on Qasa is August 31st.
- Any bookings where check-out is before or on this date can be completed as normal.
- Any bookings where check-out is after this date will be cancelled and refunded automatically.
From February 28th, it is no longer possible to publish or republish vacation listings on Qasa, nor is it possible to book a vacation rental with a check-out beyond the final closure date of August 31st.
Our sister platform Blocket x Qasa will continue to maintain the vacation rentals category until August 31st. If you plan to advertise your vacation home after April 17th for the summer of 2025, we recommend that you publish your vacation home on bostad.blocket.se instead. The offering, safety services, and functionality are identical.
Frequently asked questions:
What does this mean for landlords who rent out vacation rentals via Qasa?
- From April 17th, you will no longer be able to receive new bookings for your vacation listings as all calendars will be blocked and listings will be archived.
- Until April 17th, landlords with active listings can still receive bookings as normal, so long as the check-out date is on or before August 31st. The booking has to be confirmed by April 17th to not be automatically cancelled.
- Confirmed bookings with a check-out date on or before August 31st can be completed. If you wish to cancel a booking you can do so as normal. However, changing the date of bookings through Qasa is only possible before April 17th.
- Confirmed bookings with check-out date after August 31st will be automatically cancelled and refunded to the tenant.
What does this mean for me as a tenant of vacation rentals on Qasa?
- You won’t be able to book any vacation rentals on Qasa after April 17th.
- Until April 17th, it is still possible to search for and book a vacation home so long as the check-out date is on or before August 31st. The booking has to be confirmed by April 17th to not be automatically cancelled.
- Confirmed bookings with a check-out date before August 31st can be completed. If you wish to cancel a booking, it will be possible to do so as normal. However, changing the date of existing bookings is only possible before April 17th.
- Confirmed bookings with check-out date after August 31st will be cancelled and refunded to you.
Why can’t I publish or republish a new vacation listing?
- We have turned off the publishing of new vacation listings on Qasa in order to minimize the consequences of the shut down for our users. If you are looking to publish a new vacation listing we recommend creating the listing on our sister platform, bostad.blocket.se, which will retain its vacation listing functionality through the Summer.
My booking has a check-out date after August 31st. What will happen to it?
- A booking with a check-out date after August 31st will be automatically cancelled and refunded, and affected users will be contacted by our support team. If you have not been contacted by March 31st, please reach out to our support team here.
Will I be able to access my previous bookings and listings on the website?
- Until the final closure date of August 31st all listings and bookings will be accessible as normal. Beyond this date we will try to keep bookings and listings accessible to you, but we cannot guarantee that this functionality will remain as it is today.
