As a financial institution registered with the Financial Supervisory Authority, we are legally obligated to obtain certain information about our customers as part of our efforts to prevent money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
Politically Exposed Persons (PEP)
If you have signed a lease agreement through Blocket Bostad, we will ask you some so-called PEP questions. This requirement is set by the Financial Supervisory Authority because we will be paying out large sums of money to you (your rents). If you haven't answered the questions yet, you can find them here.
PEP
Customer due diligence requirements include, among other things, the need to determine if you, as a customer, are a "PEP" (politically exposed person), meaning if you have or have had important functions in a state or in an international organization.
A PEP is considered to hold a position that, due to its role and influence, presents a risk of being used for, among other things, corrupt practices.
RCA
We also need to know if you, as a customer, are an "RCA" (related closely associated), meaning a family member or close associate of a PEP. Family member refers to spouse/partner, registered partner, cohabitant, children and their spouse/partner, registered partner or cohabitant, as well as parents.
